Israel Martinez will be the lead pastor of Redeemer Church. Please pray for Israel, his wife, Candace, and their four kids: Felicity, Annabeth, Evangeline, and Titus.
Israel grew up in an incredibly diverse environment. He is of Puerto Rican descent, was raised in a predominantly African-American community, attended a predominantly white Baptist church, and was often labeled as Indian or Middle Eastern while growing up. Israel’s unique background led to his desire to plant a multiethnic, bilingual church in Irving, Texas.
Irving is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the country. Redeemer Church will be a place that celebrates the uniqueness of its members while focusing on the saving power of the gospel in order to love God, love people, and make disciples of all nations for God’s glory.
Redeemer Church plans to launch in 2020. Israel is currently building a launch team and preparing to start Disciple Groups that will engage with the community.
