TVC Responsibilities:
I serve as one of the lay elders of The Village Church. Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and I as an undershepherd am responsible for shepherding, governing, protecting, teaching, and praying for the church as a whole.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I was saved at 27. I never believed in God before that, despite growing up in a home with parents who served at a Methodist church each week. After getting married, my wife and I started attending a church because we wanted to have kids someday, and that's the culturally acceptable thing to do in Texas. I was pursuing worldly success and riches, simply keeping up appearances. During that first year hearing sermon after sermon, the Lord in His infinite mercy and grace gave me the gift of faith, and I started to believe.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
In 2009 my wife was invited to a Saturday night service by her friend to hear this preacher in Highland Village. She convinced me to skip our normal church service and go hear his sermon. It was the first time I'd ever seen anyone teach straight from the Bible. I was convinced we needed to find a way to start attending this new church. By the mid-2010s, we were attending regularly and joined as members.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?

If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
I wanted to be Michael Jordan.
