Young Adult Minister

Also known as:
Peyton

TVC Responsibilities:
I develop and implement curriculum, plan and execute strategic programs, and oversee both the calendar and budget for the ministry. I identify, recruit, and equip qualified leaders to serve on the Young Adults leadership team. Additionally, I provide pastoral care, support, and consistent presence for all Young Adults.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I was born and raised in the good, southern country of central Mississippi, in a family that went to church weekly. I never knew anything besides God's existence and Christ crucified. In many ways, my story of salvation was more like a sunrise than a light switch. Through our church and my older brother's profession of faith, the light of the gospel progressively shone on my sin, leading me to repentance and faith in Jesus. I remained a spiritual infant throughout my teenage years, living life in a very moralistic and performative way, never touching my Bible or showing interest in church. The summer after my senior year of high school, in a season where I felt adrift, God grabbed me and kindly shook me out of my apathy. I began to read the Bible and pray like I never had before. God graciously (and with a whole lot of patience!) used my college years to shape and mold my love for His Word and His Church. My adult years have been marked by an ever-growing love for God's Church and a desire to deeply disciple people within it. My ministry journey has included working with teenagers and college students in both local church and para-church contexts. Through it all, I have been amazed that God would see fit to use someone like me to proclaim a name like His. Hallelujah! I have a wonderful wife, Emilie, whom I met at a summer camp in East Texas when we were in college. We have one son.
