TVC Responsibilities:
My role as a Missions Deacon centers on the pre-field needs of candidates in the Sending Program; those beginning the journey of overseas deployment, those in the process, and those questioning a calling or expressing an interest.
When and how did the Lord save you?
I was blessed to be led by parents in a church that was strong in Bible teaching and sound preaching, as well as giving to and sharing about missions. I made a profession of faith at the age of 7 and was nurtured in Sunday School, Girl's Auxiliary, training union, Bible drills, VBS, and outreach.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
My husband, Paul, and I bought a home in Highland Village in 1977 while I was the choral director at LHS. At that time, we were members of FBC Corinth. Winfred Oaks knocked on our front door in early 1978 and told us that a new church was beginning to hold meetings/services in across the street from our home. We loved FBC Corinth but jumped at the chance of being a part of a Baptist church plant in our community. Even though we had long absences while ministering overseas, we periodically visited and upon retiring (2014) moved back into the community and rejoined TVC.
