Life Story
I grew up in Carrollton, Texas with believing parents who took our family to church weekly and taught us the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Through faithful attendance of our local church and relationships with a community of believers, the Lord revealed himself to me during elementary school, and I came to know Him as Lord. I was baptized at age 9 with my two sisters during which I choked on the baptismal water and coughed through my sisters’ dunking; it’s a family story that to this day I have never lived down.
After graduating from Texas A&M University, I was struggling to determine what my career and personal life would look like postcollege. I joined The Village in 2004 and, while growing in the Lord, received the calling to pursue counseling as a profession. My desire was to care for the broken, hurting and oppressed through clinically sound and gospel-centered therapy.
Shortly after I became licensed to practice counseling, I met my husband, Jeremy, at a New Year’s Eve party. My lifetime habit of making a big deal out of New Year’s Eve (and most holidays) paid off, and now I have a partner for life to scour Dallas with looking for the best queso! In September of 2017, we doubled the size of our family by welcoming our sons, Ford and Fitzgerald.
After 10 years of working in professional counseling, I came on staff at The Village to help consult on and equip others for the care of our members. I believe the Church—both local and universal—should be at the forefront of care for the oppressed and hurting.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope for The Village is that through the Holy Spirit, we would grow mature men and women who would work alongside each other to advance the gospel.
