Life Story
I can’t really remember a time when I was not involved at church. I grew up in it and was saved at the age of 7. It was not until later on in life that I started to make my faith my own, though.
I attended and then was on staff at the same church for about 20 years. In high school, a man who volunteered in the sound booth asked me if I was interested in running lights on Sunday mornings. At first I was hesitant, but it did not take long for me to change my mind. Little did I know that it would lead to me falling in love with everything audio. By my senior year, I was running sound for Sunday services.
After graduating, I attended a recording arts school in Las Colinas where I got to work in large format studios with some really talented engineers and producers.
I had a difficult time being honest about my continual sin. It was at a staff retreat with the church that I clearly remember the Lord moving in me to help me realize how big of a moron I was by living this double life. God helped me to realize that no matter how hard I tried, the only way to defeat this sin in my life and fight off the temptations of this world was to rely on His strength and not my own.
Later, the Lord called me away from the church and into the corporate world for a year as an Apple IT consultant. While I was miserable in this new work environment, I am grateful that I was blessed with the experience, having gained another perspective in ministry. I started to attend the Flower Mound campus of The Village and was able to rest in the Lord and get plugged into an incredible Home Group.
I am so thankful that God has called me to The Village and am constantly amazed and inspired by the people of this church and the work that God is doing here.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope for The Village is that we would be transparent and real and that we would share our sin with those who hold us accountable so that we will continue to be transformed into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.
