Role
The Local Missions Ministry Assistant is responsible for providing administrative, calendar, and communication support to the Local Missions Director. This role supports the planning and execution of local outreach efforts, volunteer engagement, and churchwide service opportunities. It is ideal for someone with a heart to serve locally and a desire to seek the welfare of the city.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative oversight for meetings, events, and local outreach initiatives, including scheduling, document preparation, and task tracking
- Maintain volunteer rosters, coordinate followup with volunteers, and support logistics for benevolence requests and ministry activities
- Assist in preparing written communication for newsletters, events, and volunteer opportunities by gathering content, drafting initial copy, and coordinating approvals
- Support the creation of basic visual content using Canva and coordinate with Communications for updates across appropriate platforms
- Maintain the Local Missions calendar, coordinate event logistics, and ensure timely submission of requests in internal systems
Qualifications and Requirements
- Agree with The Village Church’s Expectations of Membership, Statement of Faith, and Theological Distinctives, and commit to exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with the same.
- Affirm and actively walk in the spiritual gift of administration
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project coordination skills
- Exceptional capacity for multi-tasking and managing shifting priorities in a dynamic ministry environment
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills with a servant-hearted posture
- Proficient in Asana, Google Suite, Canva, and able to learn church systems such as The Rock and eSpace
